About ETT

The Limited Liability European Grouping of European Border Towns Cooperation was founded in September 2014. The Association has two members, its founding members are the Local Government of Nyíregyháza County Town and City Council of Satu Mare (Romania). The president of the European Border Towns ETT is Dr. Ferenc Kovács, mayor of Nyíregyháza, the co-president is Kereskényi Gábor, the mayor of Satu Mare, its director is István Pató, who is the Head of the Urban Planning and City Management Department at the Mayor’s Office in Nyíregyháza.

This Association is an independently managed, non-profit organization with legal personality, which aims to strengthen the economic and social cohesion between its members within the framework of the cross-border cooperation. The goal of the Association is the creation of joint regional development, tourism development programs and plans, to generate, implement and develop cross-border project.

The last year of the European Border Towns ETT was spent with the launch of professional programs. At the beginnings, it was hard to pick up the dynamism of other Groupings, which already have several years of experience, but the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the participation at the organized programs and conferences were major steps forward.
